There is something so very satisfying about adding new books to the collection! I was fortunate enough this month to have two successful book hauls {huzzah for “delayed Christmas” and sales!}. I thought about waiting and posting these lovelies with the month’s reading recap, but they’re so pretty and I’m so excited to have them added to my little library, I simply couldn’t wait.
Plus, maybe, just maybe, putting them out there for the world to see will help me read them in a more timely manner. Maybe? A girl can hope, ha. Joking aside, I am really excited to dive in to these; the hard part will be juggling my library loans {which seem to multiply like rabbits!}.

These lovelies are the result of a book-buying spree at Barnes & Noble, delightfully funded by Christmas. I tried something new this time: I went in with a list of titles I was looking for, and left with only books from that list!
To nobody’s surprise, the list was a lot bigger than that stack, but not everything I included was actually on the shelf – and before checking out, I sat down and did some tricky thinking about what I really wanted to own and what I could get from the Library. {Now we begin to understand why my reading is so very dominated by Library loans}. These are the titles that made the cut, covering a range of genres and “flavors” but all tantalizing.

This smaller stack of books is what happens when you get an email from Book Outlet** explaining “a book on your wishlist is back in stock” with a side of “oh yes, did we mention we’re running a BOGO sale?”
Of course I had to snag the missing volume needed to complete my hardback collection of the Little House books. And it would have been irresponsible to ignore the possibility of even more savings … thus: a tidy little stack of treasures. The Unkept Woman was picked up to complete another series, and the nonfiction delights – well, they speak for themselves. Beekeeping and regenerative farming are key threads in the weaving of our story, and as we dig in deeper, I’m ever more curious about the experiences of others.
They’ve been posted now, so there’s an extra element of accountability to actually, you know, read them sooner than later. We hope.
**Have you ever tried Book Outlet? I love it: the bargain prices + thrill of the hunt from used book sales, but all the books are new. If you want to give it a try, use my link to save $5 off your first $25+ order.
