Reading Recap: October

After a few months where it felt like I was barely reading {not to mention several DNFs over the summer}, it feels so good to be back in a reading groove.

The highlight of October reading may be that I finally finished not one, but two audiobooks! Huzzah! After struggling to find a good listen, it was nice to slip back into that routine. We shall see if the trend continues the rest of the year … In other celebrations, I actually read everything on my TBR list for the month! This rarely happens, as I tend to get very optimistic in the list making and then embrace “mood reading” as the month unfurls. When it does work out, I smile.

November and December will see an increase in holidays and social times, but also colder days and longer nights that beg for cozy indoor pursuits. It will be interesting to see how these factors play into the reading … At this time, Goodreads tells me I’m 11 books behind schedule {to meet my annual goal of 100 books}, but I’m not too worried. {I’ve only met the goal twice; but I like the math of “100 books” so keep setting that, even if I don’t force myself to achieve it}.

And of course, My Christmas is Booked is fully underway and I’m making slow-but-steady progress on the festive TBR.

What was your best read of October? Are you diving into festive reads yet, or holding out until after Thanksgiving?
