End of Summer skies

This morning, it feels like Fall. The air is dry, the breeze is just a teensy bit crisp, and it was only 65 degrees when we started our morning walk. Friends, this is bliss. The older I get, the more I appreciate Fall, and I’m especially looking forward to that golden transition this year.

This morning may have been the first time it felt like Fall, but our skies have been shifting and changing for weeks now – the angle of sunlight changing, the color coming back into the clouds at sunset, even the moon getting crisper.

I frequently include sunset pictures in monthly posts, and last October there was even a Sunsets in Autumn post of its own. Here’s another – dedicated to these End-of-Summer skies that are captivating in their beauty and give my heart joy at the promise of Fall to come.

The beam of light coming up from the sun was absolutely incredible.
And while harder to see in the photo, you could see the twin “sun dogs” flanking the sun.

With such autumnal skies already, I’ve got high hopes for a beautiful, glorious Fall in these parts.

Have you noticed the shifting-season signs in your area yet? What’s your favorite season?

  1. Tbh where I am I barely feel like we’ve had a summer. Just random heatwaves when it’s too hot enjoy with lots of dreary days in between 🙄 I love the sunset pictures though, especially that purple one 😍

    • Ugh, the too-hot heatwaves are the worst 😦 we had 2 solid months of that, so this little fallish break is extra special!
Isn’t the color just amazing?! 😍 We’ve got such an amazing skyview where we are 🙂
