It’s been a whirlwind of a month, with weirdly warm days and a hard freeze that finally ended the lingering summer garden. The season of woodwalking is returning {carefully, of course, since it is also deer season}, and Mr. and I enjoyed a couple spontaneous dates – there’s something lovely about a drive through the country sipping a “fancy drink” from Starbucks. I’m still finding the small joys and savoring those moments of beauty every chance I get – and if your corner of the world needs a reminder that beauty can still be found, I’m more than happy to share my glimpses.
It took all summer, but this nasturtium finally bloomed – a week before the hard frost. I love the coloring, and am now debating buying more colors of nasturtium seeds in the spring.
The colors have crept in slowly this year, but man have they been gorgeous. And when the sunlight hits the colored patches? It makes my heart sing.
Radish blooms are officially gorgeous, and the neighborhood bees were taking full advantage of the sun and warmish day {I was watering: it was not that warm, ha}. Everyone is getting ready for hibernation season!
I hope November has been kind to y’all. As we slide into the holiday season, I’m wishing you all little {and big!} moments of beauty and joy.

There’s this gorgeous burgundy one that our landlords grow – I’ve found a similar color in the seed catalog and it’s called “chocolate cherry”. So so beautiful. Also all of the creamy white ones, they feel very vintage to me and work well with so many other flowers. I’m wanting to add some of both colors to my collection 🙂

Your pictures are so lovely. I have always been drawn to nasturtiums, used to do multi-colored varieties in my window boxes and loved the way they trailed down. Thanks for the reminder to look for the little things that spark joy! Here’s to a joy filled December 🙂

Mr. suggested maybe doing nasturtiums in my “window” boxes (they’re along the low wall of the carport) next summer instead of geraniums. I’m tempted 🤔 Yes and amen to a joy filled December ✨💕

The weather’s been pretty varied here too, I even had snow which pretty much never happens. It disappeared within a day but it was a total surprise that it happened. It was on a day I had to travel a little bit though and seeing the forest, from the road admittedly, was stunning with the snow starting to cover it.
Your pictures are lovely and I’m glad you’re still getting colour in your garden. I love sunflowers and am surprised they lasted so long. Although saying that I saw some in a garden a few weeks back and was surprised.

I was surprised and impressed how long most of the flowers lasted this year 😀 And huzzah for winter bloomers keeping things cheerful in the cold.
