Late Sunday they started saying there was a chance for flurries overnight Monday/early Tuesday. Yesterday the DOT crews were brining the roads in preparation for winter weather. When we went to bed last night, there was radar-indicated snowfall in the near vicinity. I noticed the light had changed when I woke up in the middle of the night: snowfall.
This morning? A gorgeous fluffy, sticky winter wonderland! I guess the persimmon seeds were on to something {that knife also came true: the wind has been brutally cold the last few days}. It’ll be fun to see what the rest of the Winter holds, especially since it’s still technically Autumn!
It’s been years since we’ve had a true snow in our parts of North Carolina, {the first Winter Mr. and I were married, it actually snowed every weekend in January}, and this was such a pretty one. I bundled up and scurried out to get some photos this morning – before coffee!

It was so beautiful and peaceful. The cow littles are definitely not sure what to make of things, but the bottle baby {who is almost a year old!} enjoyed getting his ears scratched. The bunnies and deer had been out before me, and it was fun to follow their trails through the snow. But it was cold, and I was quite happy to get inside and drink some coffee.
Huzzah for small joys and snowy surprises!
It’s interesting to hear that those seeds were right, especially as snow is rarer for you. It’s lovely to see all the pictures of it too. I know it can cause havoc but I always think it’s so beautiful to see snow. I just feel sorry for the cows out in the cold 🥶

Hopefully there will be more snow in the weeks/months to come! 🤞 Thankfully they’ve been getting their winter coats in and are super wooly/extra furry (and they got a delivery of hay not long after I came inside) … they didn’t seem too bothered, other than the littles being confused 😂

I hope you get your wish 🤞 yes I guess they are better designed than us for outdoor living 😅 it’ll be interesting to see if the young ones end up trying to play in it eventually. I know some animals love to.

It came, it was glorious, and it vanished 😂
Hopefully there’ll be many more snow days in the weeks/months to come 🤞

Beautiful! I can’t believe you guys got snow before we did here in PA. It’s been cold enough here with so much wind, but not enough cold air when the storm arrived. We mostly got some rain. Your snow fall looks like just the right amount to make things beautiful.

We were pretty surprised! It does happen every now and then (thanks fb memories for help with that 😂), but it’s rare enough to be special when it does ❄️ It was so gorgeous, and then gone by nightfall 🙃
