If I’ve learned anything this winter, it’s that persimmon seeds don’t lie, y’all. We have been much colder than normal, and we’ve just had our third wintry precipitation event in a month and a half. Yesterday, we never made it out of the 20s {after starting the morning at a crisp 14*}, and the skies were heavy lead grey all day, making it feel so much colder. By 5pm, the flurries started. Teeny, tiny snowflakes – but snowflakes all the same – and they fell for hours. It wasn’t one of those beautiful, fluffy, deep snows, but considering the forecast was for “no real chance” … Snow is snow.

A quick scurry out this morning, barely beyond the reach of the carport, tells me we had roughly 1/3 inch of the white stuff. We were in the low teens again overnight, and may hit freezing today, so it’s far too cold to explore further – or follow the cat tracks that appear leaving the porch/carport area. At least the sun is out today, it’s amazing the difference that makes in how the cold feels.
With so much of the country experiencing ridiculously cold weather {my family in Florida even saw snow and ice with this system!}, I hope you’re all staying warm and safe. May your blankets be cozy, your drinks hot, and your books fabulous.
I hope weather will be pleasant soon. It never snows here and it already started to warm up and in 2 month it will be hot like summer.

Maybe 🤞 We usually have a more up-and-down winter, but it went down and stayed this year 😂🥶 At least the sun is out today, that helps a lot!

Hope you enjoy it! We’re going to be going into the teens and twenties for the next several weeks, it looks like. Strange for Alabama!

Aww I love the final line of your post 🥰 and I love seeing pictures of the snow. It’s always wonderful to see and makes things look so pretty. It’s cold here too and it sounds like the storm they’ve forecast is starting up 🙄 honestly the weather’s bizarre, one minute today it was tipping then it turned sunny now the winds picking up. I agree that sunny skies generally make the cold more bearable. They lift your mood too compared to grey overcast skies.

‘Tis a very sincere wish as well 🥰
The weather is incredibly bizarre this year/season! We’ve not had a winter like this in ages, and it sounds like it’s not just us. Stay warm and safe! ❤

🥰🥰 I hope for the same for you too ❤️
That’s very true, I’ve seen a few reports of pretty extreme weather recently. Thanks, you too 🥰 especially as you seem to get much frostier temperatures than me in general.
