Glimpses of April

April has been a full month, with lots of time spent outside in the garden, and inside with the baby chickens, and holiday shenanigans and any number of things to keep us busy. The world has shaken off winter – though there have been some cold mornings, even frost! – and everything has that “pent up energy” feel. It’s a glorious time to be alive, if you can dodge the pollen.

We have so many ladybug friends this year!
This tree always brings me intense joy.
And when the petals fall, it’s like soft pink rain.
I won a Spring bouquet subscription!
Which means pretty flowers + “date morning” drives to pick them up.
We visited the urban garden where we got married.
Such a lovely oasis in the middle of the city.
These guys thought I had snacks. I did not, only my coffee.
Strawberry season is officially here!
The peas are blooming, with abandon. And they are gorgeous.
I can’t wait to eat them, ha
Summer clouds appearing early …
… but we have also hit 80*, so maybe not so early?
The Northern sky, at my parents’ house.
{I was checking for auroras, with no luck}
This sage is absolutely stunning.
The peonies are blooming, and they are gorgeous – as always.
The cows are back!
And the sweet bottle-baby from last year remembers me.

How was your April? Hopefully filled with many moments of hope-giving joy and beauty, and fabulous adventures as Spring gains momentum. Now onward to May, with longer days edging toward Summer, and more chances to find the beauty in the world around us.

  1. Ooh how lovely to win a spring bouquet flower subscription 🥰 and that tree is stunning. I love seeing all the blossom and flowers around at this time of year. Revisiting the place you got married sounds wonderful and it looks lovely too. Did you pick those strawberries from your garden already? I always love peonies too. And omg you saw a calf this week too. How sweet that they remembered you.
