Blanket progress

Now that we’re into July, it’s time for another peek at the progress I’m making on my book cover crochet blanket. Obviously these updates don’t show every square I’ve made {at the time of posting, I’ve read 44/100 books for the year}, just the ones I’m either super proud of and/or have a physical copy of the book. You can see previous updates here and here.

I am so pleased with the way these are coming together, especially once I add the single-crochet turquoise border, and cannot wait to see how the finished product turns out! Despite not knowing how many books I will end up reading this year, I’ve been toying with ways to lay out the finished squares come January. If I need more squares to bump the total number, I plan to crochet squares in the same turquoise as the border, to use as month/quarterly dividers as needed.

And just for fun, here’s a short of the making of one of the squares above. I may play around with more crochet-y videos, so let me know what you think of this one!

This is one of those projects that seems daunting, but is so fun in the process and I’m very glad I took the plunge. Can’t wait to see what squares I’ll make next!

  1. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen related to reading in my life. LOVE THIS idea. I’m a relatively new reader so I’m not sure if this is something you’ve done before (I clicked on the posts for the other squares and I’m assuming this is the first time you’ve taken on a project like this), but it is genius. Seriously. GENIUS!

    • Thank you! ❤ This is the first time I've tried anything like this {I've only recently come back to crocheting after years of not}, but I have observed and admired others' blankets online for a while. Very glad I took the plunge, and it is so much fun! 😀

  2. All of your crotchet squares look incredible. I can’t wait to see the finished project and I love that you’re already thinking of ideas to divide the months if you need something to make it work number of squares wise.

I was going to pick a favourite but I don’t feel like I can. They genuinely all look beautiful 😍

Also the video was great, I love how you set it out ❤️

    • Thank you 😍 It will be very interesting to see how they all come together in the end, especially considering the *range* of colors that are being used 😂
And aww thanks! I had fun playing with the video, and will have to do some more. Especially when it’s lay-out time! 🙂
