Summer of Jane: Wrap-Up

While Summer is officially with us a few more weeks, in terms of Summer Reading initiatives, things have wrapped up and been squirreled away for another year. Including my Summer of Jane campaign {although A Very Jane Year is most definitely still underway}. I’ve been writing mini reviews for everything in my Bookmarked posts, so I won’t repeat myself in this post, but I did want to share my Summer of Jane reads and some concluding thoughts.

I read 6 books this year, which is more than I managed last year! This feels like a nice victory in and of itself. Most of them were my own books, including a couple that’d been lingering on my TBR. I finally managed to read Mansfield Park, which is definitely a victory.

Obviously my TBR is still overflowing, and I’ve got many Austenesque books on my radar and agenda, so while Summer of Jane has ended, it’s far from the end of Jane Austen for the year.

Did you work any Austenesque reads into your Summer Reading?
Or maybe you’ve got your eyes on some for the Fall, or even Winter cozy reading?
There are numerous Austenesque reads being published in the next few months, only a few of which I highlighted earlier. It’s such a good year to be a Janeite.

  1. You’re right – it is a good year to be a Janeite! Your Jane reads all sound excellent. I’m reading A 30-Day Journey with Jane Austen. I read Day 1 today and it was lovely.

And, of course, Jane Austen is visiting my dollhouse! ☺️

  2. Yay well done on getting to six titles for your Summer Of Jane. Ive still managed none but im hoping to have read two fairly soon. I want to say by the end of this month but if not it’ll definitely be during October. It sounds like most of them were successes too which is wonderful. Its just a shame that Mansfield Park was such a letdown.

  3. I am happy to see you enjoyed Austen at Sea….been meaning to read that one. I usually enjoy Jenner’s novels. The only Austen-esque novel I read this summer was Elizabeth of East Hampton and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read more of her novels!

    • I also tend to enjoy Jenner’s novels, and this one had a nice literature-geek feel to it 🙂 I loved Elizabeth of East Hampton, and can’t wait for the next one to release in October! That series is a lot of fun 😀
