Another quarter has ended, which means it’s time for another status check of my bookish crochet project! I am particularly pleased with some of the Granny squares I’m sharing today: as I’m getting more confident in my crochet, I’m getting more creative playing with the yarns. What do you think?

I’m debating posting the final quarter teasers in January OR waiting and doing a final reveal … It may take me a minute to get all the squares put together for a functional blanket, so I’m leaning toward a final teaser post and then the grand finale once it’s all complete. Thoughts?
I am also playing around with options for the 2026 Book Blanket. As fun as it has been to match the Granny squares to the book covers, I think I want to try something different. {Apparently 2026 is the year for doing things differently: I have a different planner for the first time in 5+ years, and will keep my reading records/notes in a separate journal}. There are a couple options I’m considering, and any or all of them should result in a cool blanket. We shall see what I pick!
And of course, if you’ve missed previous updates, you can catch them here, here, and here.
I LOVE those, Rebecca! I will be excited to see your finished blanket. It might be neat to lay all of the books out in a separate pic and post it with a pic of the blanket so we can see them all matched up. You are doing great 🙂

Thank you! 🥰 I am really loving this process 🙂 That would look cool, but maybe a little patchy considering the number of audiobooks I’ve listened to this year 😂 That might be good incentive for a future blanket to read my shelves though 🤔

Thanks! 🥰 It’s so hard to pick a favorite because they are all so fun and awesome in their own ways! I cannot wait to see them all together {and share that!} 😀

I am just so impressed with this project.
I finished Wild Dark Shore yesterday. I’ll be curious to hear what you thought of it (or maybe your review of it was what prompted me to order it in…sorry, I am terrible at keeping track of who recommends what book to me).

I am really pleased with how it’s turning out, and all I’ve got is a growing stack of bundled squares! 😀 Can’t wait to see it all together.
No worries, if I don’t literally right down/save a post where someone recommended a book I forget where it came from too. I read Wild Dark Shore in August – very curious what you thought of it! 🙂

This is beautiful and very inspiring. I’ve just gotten back into crochet and would love to attempt something like this. I also can’t wait to see what you choose to do in 2026.

Oh yay! I’m so glad it can be an inspiration and encouragement – I definitely am still relearning my way into crochet, but this has been such a fun and “easy” way to get more comfortable with it. Totally worth taking the plunge 🙂
I’m getting closer to figuring out my approach for 2026! 😀
