Glimpses of July

At first, I wasn’t sure I’d have enough photos to make a dedicated post for July … but when I started looking back through my camera roll, it was full of moments that made my heart smile {and when you’re battling a Summer cold, those are worth double!}. I hope these glimpses of JOY and BEAUTY and WONDER bring a smile to your heart as well.

For the first time in a long time, I saw fireworks.
The sunset skies have been mesmerizing,
and also giving “late-late-Summer” vibes.
Does it get more “Summer” than this?
Sunflower at my mom’s; loving the color.
It has been an excellent year for baby bunnies.
This little guy was trying to move into my potted rose,
so I relocated him to the honeysuckle thicket.
Spider season seems to be starting early …
The “scrap pile” peach tree actually had fruit!
Garden harvests make you feel rich.
We got an ear of corn!
The luffa gourd blooms are so HUGE.
As are the gourds themselves.
Buckwheat cover crop, tallest it’s ever grown.
Luffa gourd vines on the right, also tall.
Tiny little hen, enormous personality + opinions.
Heidi loves being outside, and sitting on her perch.
Anyone know what kind of chicken she is? Definitely not a Barred Rock …
These always feel like the end of Summer/late August to me.

I hope July was kind to you, and that as we transition into August and those golden, late Summer days, there are countless moments of beauty to make your heart smile. It’s the little things that make life special, and sometimes the small joys are the biggest wins.

[…] There were two exciting chicken updates: first a look at how they grew from week to week, and then moving outside with the big chickens! {I am also so happy that I only had to put them to bed for 3 nights before they learned to put themselves up. Crawling around on hands and knees in the chicken coop was as fun as it sounds…}. All things summer days were discussed in a Tea Time post, including a peek at the mix of tomatoes we’re enjoying. While the heat limits some of my baking, I’m still managing to make batches of this easy homemade granola, to enjoy with fresh {local} fruit and Greek yogurt. And with all of that, I still managed to have pictures beyond the posts, and was able to feature Glimpses of July. […]

  7. July was truly a wonderful month, filled with everything from bright, sunny days to refreshing rainy weather. I enjoyed my summer holiday in a relaxed and peaceful mood, and it was time well spent. Now August is here, and I’m feeling refreshed and ready to return to the office soon. Thank you for sharing these beautiful glimpses of July. They brought back so many lovely summer memories.🩷🌷⛱️🌞🌻

  8. The fireworks looks lovely, its always impressive to see a good display of them. The sunset pictures look lovely too. What a beautiful big butterfly and cute bunny picture. I’d love to see those hopping around near me. It must be lovely to have fresh peaches, even more so if its an unexpected bloom. I saw in the news that thanks to the crazy weather someone’s banana plant has grown fruit over here for the first time ever. They weren’t convinced it would be edible but its definitely crazy.
