August was a hodge-podge of a month, and I know why my social media feeds are full of people declaring it “Augtober” … Maybe it’s the light changing, or kids and teachers going back to school, or Fall books starting to show up, but August is truly a transition month. We’re still in the thick of Summer heat, but that heat has also changed. Honestly, the humidity is the worst offender: the sun has already started backing off from its harshest angle. It was a month that felt both fast and slow, with good and hard moments. We said a very unexpected goodbye to the bestest kitty-boy River, but I was able to get one last marathon cuddle session before. The cows came back to our side, with 6 adorable and curious babies. There were amazing eats, and a lot of reading {that post coming soon!}. It has been a wild, hot Summer and while I have savored the moments as they come, I am ready for these ‘Ber months. Here’s a peek at August …

I was getting shavings for the chicken box, and felt eyes on me.

but the P ladies have decided they like the H box. Sometimes.

These sunflowers are so, so good.
I do have some chicken pictures from August as well, but I’m going to make a chicken update later this month. The H class ladies have developed even more personality, and it’s so fun.
What was your best moment of August?
Are you ready for the ‘Ber months?
