You might think that spending a year spent celebrating Jane Austen would “cure” a girl. If you did, I’m sorry to say: you’re wrong. At this point, I’ve already logged 5 Austenesque reads for the year, and there are many still on my TBR. And so, we bring back the reading celebration that is Summer of Jane.
I’m not making any changes to the plan: reading levels are posted below, and if you’d like to participate you can make blog or social media posts, or even just comment on posts. The idea is to have fun and indulge in some focused Jane Austen reading.

My personal TBR for the Summer, which is extremely over-ambitious, includes:
- Emma | Jane Austen {I failed to reread this one last year!}
- Murder at Donwell Abbey | Vanessa Kelly {Probably also a reread of Murder in Highbury}
- Sense & Suitability | Pepper Basham
- The Heart of Bennet Hollow | Joanne Bischof Dewitt
- Sanditon | Jane Austen & Kate Riordan
- Pride and Prejudice in Space | Alexis Lampley
- Pride, Prejudice and Peril | Katie Oliver
I also want to catch up on some Austenesque viewing {or rewatching in some cases}. As far as posting goes, I think this year will include a mid-point check in addition to the Upcoming Releases and Wrap-Up posts from years past. If I do manage watching as well, we may do a separate post for the adaptations. So much Jane potential for the Summer! Yay!
Will you be indulging in a Summer of Jane this year?
What is your favorite Austenesque movie/television adaptation?
This sounds interesting, but America @ 250 has me completely booked!

That is also an entirely awesome focus for the summer! I’ve got several titles lingering on my TBR I may try to squeeze in as a nod to the celebrations 🙂

That’s the plan! 🙂 And I’m even going to be doing double-duty: Pride, Prejudice, and Peril will count for Cozy Mystery Bingo as well 😀

Hope you have a wonderful time doing Summer Of Jane again. I havent heard of all of the titles on your TBR and will have to watch out for your thoughts on them. I think I still have some cover posts saved in my drafts from last year that I never shared 🙈 I’ll try to get to Emma this summer 🤞 although my TBR is pretty crazy right now. Last year I did finally get to Pride And Prejudice though so I’m considering my, admittedly limited, efforts a win 😂

I’ve been dabbling around the Austenesque blog scene for so long, I find all kinds of titles to catch my eye 😂
I confess to just piling books on my mental TBR for the Summer and ignoring the possibility-factor 😂 I’ll get to what I manage to get to, and the ones I need to read in the moment 🙂
Yay for potential Emma read, and ooooh – more of your fun cover posts! 😀

It’s surprising just how many are out there and how varied the titles are. There seem to be options in pretty much every genre.
There are so many titles that I’m desperate to get to that I don’t know how its going to work. At least that should mean lots of new favourite reads though 🤞 given the excitement levels involved.

There truly is something for every reader in the Austenverse! It’s quite impressive actually, and what a testament to the staying power of Jane 🙂
