A bookish fall

I know many aren’t ready for Summer to end, but I find myself very ready for Fall. The light shifted weeks ago, the garden is showing “end of season” signs, and schools are back in session. Plus, I am tired of sweating just from walking outside. While counting down the days until the ‘Ber months return, I’m trying to squeeze in a few more Austenesque reads and titles from my Summer Reading wishlist. But I’m also looking ahead. Fall books have started releasing, with more to come {and then Christmas books!}, so it’s time to make another reading wishlist.

These backlist picks actually live on my bookshelf, and I am determined to read them this Fall. Especially with Christmas-oriented sequels for 2 of them releasing in the near future.

The first of the new releases, these are already available for the reading. I have loved Julia McKay’s Christmas books in recent years, and am very excited to dive into this one.

I didn’t notice at first, but my “upcoming releases” are spaced out one-per-week for September, which feels like very nice pacing. Whether they get read in that order {or timing} is anyone’s guess, but it made me smile when I realized.

It would have been so easy to keep adding books, but I tried hard to prioritize my selections. A process made more difficult since “Fall fiction” seems to be the hot new thing. {Apparently I’m not the only one who loves that golden transition season}. There are also quite a few more new and upcoming releases than featured here, but again: this is my reading wishlist for 2026.

Do you make seasonal TBR or reading wishlists?
Are any of these on your Fall reading radar?
Have I left one off of my list that you think I would enjoy/should check out?
