In a surprising twist, it has been a slow start to festive reading this year. So slow that I have not yet read a festive book at all. But that’s partly why I start reading holiday books so early. I know I have time to get to them, so I can go at a slower pace – and keep reading the other books calling my name, or indulge in a spontaneous Agatha Christie buddy read. It’s all about balance.
While I may not have managed any festive reading yet, I have added to my personal festive collection. I don’t always buy what I want to read – I am a huge supporter of the local library! – but sometimes there are books I know I’m going to need on my shelves. That’s the case with these new additions, and I like knowing I’ve got more flexibility in scheduling their reading.

As soon as I finish up the last few in-progress reads, I’m going to be diving into these! I think the Jenny Bayliss may be the first read of the season. {One of my besties and I totally fangirled earlier this month when Jenny herself interacted with my Instagram post!}
Have you started making a list of holiday reads?
Or maybe you’ve gotten an earlier start than me – in which case, what are you reading?
